The student mentoring/tutoring program improves student performance and fosters the development of meaningful relationships with the youth of Washington County.
At any time, any of these volunteer opportunities may be available:
Seniors Helping Others is eager to work with the local school departments, volunteer groups, and parents organizations to place senior volunteers in positions that can take advantage of their helpfulness and positive influence.
We believe a partnership between local schools and our organization benefits all involved by encouraging personal growth and developing intergenerational relationships.
Office staff will match volunteers with programs assisting children in pre-schools, elementary schools and secondary schools. Volunteers may work supervised in small groups or one-on-one. Assignments are also often available that enable volunteers to share a particular skill or experience on a one-time-only basis.
