Friendly Visitors

Friendly visitors provide companionship and support to the homebound on a regular basis, usually once a week.

SHO volunteers are matched with people of similar interests, if possible, and spend about one hour a week visiting elderly or handicapped persons in their homes or healthcare facilities.

Relationships are fostered by these visits and, at the volunteer's option, may exceed one hour a week. Visits accomplish a weekly safety check and can be as encompassing as the volunteer wishes.
