Info on the AARP site changes regularly. You can sign up to receive e-mail notifications when it does.
The U.S. Administration on Aging site has fact sheets about a variety of subjects, press releases, retirement and financial planning info. Info on this site can be accessed in Spanish.
The Corporation is the nation’s largest grantmaker supporting service and volunteering, and is the umbrella organization for the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps (and Americorps VISTA), and Learn and Serve America programs.
The federal Department of Veterans Affairs site offers info about veteran's benefits, benefits for survivors and dependents and special VA programs. You can also download forms and applications — and it's much easier than calling the VA in Providence!
This site includes a variety of info on adult day centers, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
HelpingPatients.org is an interactive site jointly created by PhRMA (Phamaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) and 48 of its member companies. The site offers access to more than 275 public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 150 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.
This site contains the Medicare Compare database, enabling viewers to compare health plans and nursing homes. It also has much other info in English, Spanish and Asian languages.
The National Council on Aging home page includes info about current events and research in the field of aging. You can subscribe to its mailing list.
Senior Initiative is a nonprofit based in Canton, Mass., that provides information and education on issues relating to the health and financial well being of seniors. It also offers free assistance to anyone evaluating Medicare-approved Part D prescription drug insurance plans, provides timely information about scams and provides information relating to finances, especially related to seniors and retirement.
